Schedule
League nights are on your own time. You must play every week to play the scheduled course for that week. If you plan on missing a week, you may play in advance to accommodate.
Format
All matches will be 9 holes. There are a possible 12 points that may be earned in each match. There will be 3 ways to earn points for your team during each match.
Four-ball
Four-ball match play and individual match play, with two teammates playing their net better ball against the net better ball of the opposing team. The team that wins the hole receives 1 point; if the teams tie the hole, each team receives half a point. The team with the most points at the end of the match is awarded an additional point for a maximum possible total of 10 points per team match.
Individual Matches
The individual matches will be played during your four-ball match each week. Each individual on the team will have their own match against one of the opponents. Each individual match will be worth 1 point. Before matches begin, will be matched with their opponent based on handicap. The winner of the individual match is determined by the total net score.
League Handicaps
If you’ve played in previous years, we will use your TruGolf handicap for the start of the season. If you do not have a TruGolf handicap we will assign you a TruGolf handicap based on your first three weeks of play and then score those three matches after the completion of the third match. TruGolf handicaps will be monitored and adjusted by the committee if necessary.
Substitutes
GL Golf Simulator League Matches are played in accordance with the TruGolf profile handicaps. Teams/players are responsible for finding their own subs. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to cover your absence. If the sub does not have a TruGolf profile with a handicap, the sub will play to a zero handicap. Suburban Lanes will not be held responsible if a sub cannot be found.
Forfeits
All league players are recommended to find a sub in the absence of a player. If a sub cannot be found, a team may compete with one player representing the team until a sub or the original player can make up the match. If a player fails to make up the match within two weeks of the original play date, the competing player’s score will be counted as the team score. If both players are unable to make up a match, they will forfeit the match for that week and receive zero points. In this instance the winning team will receive eight points for the week. (6 for the team match and 1 point each for the individual matches)
Playoffs
A three-week playoff season will begin the week following the last week of the regular season and culminate in Championship and Consolation matches. The top two teams from each division will qualify for the playoffs and will be seeded based on their total regular season points. Each seeded team will compete to claim the title of GL Golf Sim League Champions.
